Location: Ashtabula, Ohio
Celebrating her seventh year in educational administration, Amanda Brace continues at Counseling for Wellness as a student advisor. There, she provides health and wellness services, including quality counseling to enable clients to build a brighter future. In five years, Ms. Brace hopes to obtain her clinical counseling license and become a practicing professional.
As an expert in intimidation, cyberbullying, and student advocacy, Ms. Brace’s day consists of supervising postgraduate students in their first experience with clients, working with adolescents, develops curricula, and consults with schools in developing curricula and programs. She attributes her success to her ambition, personal drive and the support she receives from her parents, who encouraged her to become independent and educated. Initially, Ms. Brace became involved in her profession because she wanted to make a difference and help new counselors to become better.
Ms. Brace received a Master of Education in school counseling from Kent State University in 2007. She works part time at a private counseling practice. Ms. Brace also takes youths on mission trips to Habitat for Humanity and homeless shelters, where they volunteer their services.
