An active member of her community, Josephine Bird parlays 10 years of experience into her position as the president of Laie Point Community Association. The nonprofit organization provides a number of services, including beautification projects, newsletters, programs for adult and child safety, and a neighborhood watch. As the president, she is responsible for managing community services and organizing events. To prepare for her career, Ms. Bird completed coursework at Brigham Young University Hawaii in 1978, and coursework at Glendale Junior College, which is now Glendale Community College, in 1963.
