She proceeded to join CASS Business Telephones, a family-owned business, as their president, and has since garnered more than 30 years of expertise in communications.

Ms. Yatauro is also an established government official and noteworthy activist in the Long Island community. In 2008, Ms. Yatauro was sworn in as the Presiding Officer of the Nassau County Legislature, and when the Nassau County Democratic Party lost the majority in the 2009 election, she became the Minority Leader. She held this position until 2012, when she left the political world to help her daughter, Nicole, pursue an acting career. Ms. Yatauro has remained an active participant in her community, however, as is evident through her role as the vice president of the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Boys and Girls Club. She has also taught religion at St. Rocco’s Church in Glen Cove, and maintains strong ties with the Glen Cove Sons of Italy, the Glen Cove Chamber of Commerce, the Junior League, and the North Shore Historical Museum.
