Title: Private Counselor (Retired)
Company: Private Practice
Location: Annandale, VA United States
A private counselor for more than 30 years, Helen Winter recently decided to retire. During her work at the private practice, she was responsible for mentoring, advising and counseling both adults and children. Now, Ms. Winter is an active volunteer with Home Instead, Inc., a nonprofit organization focused on implementing better health care for senior citizens, and is a board member on the Clean Fairfax Council, which works to help the environment. She also works with her local school district to help design beneficial programs for students and volunteers with her church.
Ms. Winter holds a Bachelor of Science in business and a Master of Education, both from George Mason University. She is a member of DAR, the Civic Association, the Annandale Planning Committee, the Annandale Area Chamber of Commerce and a local women’s club. Always trying to help others, she used to produce a fashion show whose proceeds went toward stopping human trafficking and also collects gifts to distribute to the elderly in various nursing homes in her area. She attributes her success to her passionate attitude—she loves people and she loves helping others.
