Barbara Allen is the senior business analyst for the Iowa-based business and technology consulting firm, Market Rate Consulting. The firm’s consultants tend to specialize in one or more of the following: application development, data strategy and architecture, IT architecture, learning and development solutions, process design, program leadership and project management. In her position, which she has held for one year, she is responsible for dealing with contract business analysis assignments for ACT. Prior to this position, she worked as a business and data analyst/consultant for a variety of companies, including Diversified Software Resources, Inc, Wells Fargo, INT Technologies, Aviva Life Insurance, the Principal Financial Group, Harrington, the state of Arizona and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona.

In preparation for her career, Ms. Allen obtained a Master of Science in computer information science from Western International University. With more than 20 years in her field, she has become an expert in business analysis, business requirements, requirements gathering and requirements analysis. Her positive attitude, dedication and meticulous attention to detail have contributed to her success over the years.

In addition to her work as a senior business analyst, Ms. Allen served as a board member in technology for the Central Iowa chapter of the International Institute of Business Analysis from 2009-2013. She is also currently serving as a board member in administration for the Iowa Data Management Association.
