Title: Mailroom Clerk
Company: CenturyLink
Location: Wentzville, MO United States
A natural progression of opportunities led Patty Hoeckelmann to her position with CenturyLink, a communications company that provides data services to residential, business and government customers. She started out processing payments 38 years ago, and when an opportunity came up in the mailroom, she took full advantage of it. When Ms. Hoeckelmann first became a mailroom clerk, she was required to drive big trucks, and had to get a chauffeur license. The role has evolved somewhat since then, and Ms. Hoeckelmann is proud of the fact that she still has the physical strength she needs to do everything required of her and that she has survived many layoffs over the years.
Looking forward a few years, Ms. Hoeckelmann hopes to retire and start volunteering more. She already makes monetary donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and is an honored member of The International Women’s Leadership Association. Ms. Hoeckelmann also loves to watch baseball games and go dancing when she has spare time. She hopes to be remembered for her contagious laugh, and as a happy, caring, and wonderful mother and grandmother.
