Born in Spain, Helena Gavilanes began her career with HP Development Company, L.P., while studying at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. As a woman lacking extensive education in the field, she felt she had to prove herself more than others. Ms. Gavilanes relied on her ability to learn fast, which propelled her to rise within the company. She has been with them for the past 23 years now, even staying on after her move to the United States in 2006. Ms. Gavilanes is proud that the chance she took to pursue her career paid off. She currently uses her instinct for sales and her organizational skills to thrive as a workstation sales specialist.

Looking to the future, Ms. Gavilanes would like to develop more business for the company, and hopes to move into a more senior role that enables her to mentor others. She has been inspired by her strong mother and supportive family, whom she values above all else. When Ms. Gavilanes has spare time, she enjoys photography, reading, cooking, and traveling. She is also working on her health and weight, for the sake of herself and her daughter. Further, Ms. Gavilanes is an honored member of The International Women’s Leadership Association.
