Driven by her desire to help others, Sue Barnett has found two jobs that allow her to do just that. As an independent beauty consultant and owner of her own Mary Kay business, she helps other women take care of themselves and their skin so they can feel and look their best, and as an account executive with The Winchester Group, she helps people achieve financial stability through insurance. Ms. Barnett joined Mary Kay fairly recently, and offers both one-on-one consultations and parties. Her specialties include skin care solutions, age-fighting skin care, mother-daughter parties, fragrances, and body care. She joined The Winchester Group in 2003, and with a background in the insurance industry spanning nearly three decades, she specializes in personal lines and provides home, auto, motorcycle, life, ATV, and personal umbrella liability coverage. Ms. Barnett has a real passion for finding the best solutions for her clients.
To prepare for her career, Ms. Barnett earned various insurance designations, such as ACSR, AIAM, and CPIW. She also holds a property and casualty license and a life and annuities license. Furthermore, since continuing education is an integral part of maintaining an insurance license, Ms. Barnett is constantly looking for classes that are relevant to further her knowledge and client service skills at The Winchester Group. Moving forward, she hopes to continue to grow in the insurance industry, and to build her Mary Kay business to the point where she can hand it over to her daughter.
When Ms. Barnett isn’t working one of her jobs, she serves as a charter member of The Insurance Women of Northern Shenandoah Valley and is active with The Boys and Girls Club of Northern Shenandoah Valley. She is also a member of the Kiwanis of Old Town Winchester, and has held various leadership positions with the organization over the years. Additionally, Ms. Barnett is an honored member of The International Women’s Leadership Association.
