Determined to apply herself no matter what she does, Tammy A. Garanzini has spent the more than a decade garnering experience in her industry. She started out as an electrician, and spent time working for a long distance telecom company in accounting and project management. Since then, Ms. Garanzini has spent the past seven years utilizing what she’s learned as an estimator with Freestate Electrical Construction Company. The business specializes in commercial electrical construction projects, and has been contracted by places like George Mason University and Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital.

In addition to her career as an estimator, Ms. Garanzini also serves as a union instructor. She teaches electrical codes, and is inspired by helping students get their licenses. Ms. Garanzini earned her own licenses through an apprenticeship program with Local Union 26, and through an electrical and power transmission installer general program with JATC.  She hopes to be remembered as someone who shared her knowledge and information.

Ms. Garanzini feels that enjoying her work has contributed to her success, even in a male-dominated industry. She loves being a part of different buildings going up. As a member of The International Women’s Leadership Association, Ms. Garanzini would advise the younger generations to knock the chip off their shoulders, get the job done, and prove themselves. She enjoys woodworking in her spare time.
