As a woman in today’s world, Shirley Taylor feels that her husband being in the service contributed to her success; it is how she got her start working for the U.S. government, after all. She prepared for her career by taking various courses and joining the Secretary’s Club, which, coupled with her experience working for the air force in Germany, helped her thrive in her rewarding, 32-year career. Ms. Taylor was inspired throughout her professional journey by the feeling she gets when she accomplishes things. Although she is now retired, she loved that her job gave her the opportunity to work with people from all over the world.

Moving forward, Ms. Taylor intends to travel more. She also supports the missions of various charities through her church, and enjoys spending time there when she can. Ms. Taylor is currently an honored member of The International Women’s Leadership Association, and would advise the younger generations entering the workforce to have a good personality and be good with their skills.
