Driven by her love for helping people and the experience of taking care of her grandmother when she was diagnosed with cancer, Angela Stockwell decided to further her education in healthcare. She is currently pursuing a nursing degree, and is gaining industry experience through her position with Covenant Healthcare, a comprehensive healthcare provider. As a CRMA and CNA, Ms. Stockwell has a variety of responsibilities, including interviewing patients to obtain medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height, preparing patients for the physician, and recording medical histories, vital statistics and test results in medical records. She also prepares and administers medications as directed by a physician, and collects blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens and prepares them for testing.

The biggest challenge Ms. Stockwell faced was being a single mother for 14 years. She was determined to continue her education to better her family, however, no matter the obstacle. Her family gives her the courage to be a better mom and a better person, and she attributes her success to the strength of her husband, Christopher. She hopes to be remembered for her efficiency and for helping others before herself, both personally and professionally.

As a testament to her achievements, Ms. Stockwell earned the President’s Award and the Vice President’s Award for her high GPA, and received the Covenant Healthcare Nursing Scholarship in 2015 and the Ida May Brown Nursing Scholarship in 2016. She is currently a member of the American Association of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technician Association, Phi Theta Kappa, Delta College Student Nurses Association, and The International Women’s Leadership Association. When Ms. Stockwell isn’t working, she volunteers at a hospice and enjoys swimming, reading, and music.
