Marianela Figueroa-Arroyo loves to be in an environment of education and higher learning. She finds it to be so inspiring, which is why she chose to pursue a career at The City University of New York. Ms. Figueroa-Arroyo has served as an administrative events specialist for the institution for the past three decades now, and is always trying to learn and be the best she can be. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree, and already holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts.

As a woman in today’s world, Ms. Figueroa-Arroyo feels that her drive has contributed to her success, as well as the fact that she never gives up. She is a breast cancer survivor and a domestic violence survivor, but she is determined to get up every day and not let the bad things interfere or distract her. Looking forward, Ms. Figueroa-Arroyo hopes to get involved in more volunteer work when she retires. She is inspired by her family and her self-love, and currently supports the missions of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Children International. Ms. Figueroa-Arroyo is also a member of The International Women’s Leadership Association, and would advise the younger generations to be responsible and efficient, and to learn from mistakes.
