Always a goal-setter, Jeannette Rowlett has worked hard to make a name for herself in the arts community. With 40 years of experience under her belt, she is currently utilizing her talents as the executive director of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, which is the oldest visual arts organization in the state. In that role, Ms. Rowlett is responsible for overseeing the organization’s new Visual Arts Academy, which holds classes from April to December, and directing the two large galleries containing work from the artists who are juried to the group. She is proud of the fact that she is able to help the next generation of artists and provide a place for others to sell and advertise their work.
In addition to the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, Ms. Rowlett also runs her own business, Jeannette’s Jewelry. There, she sells the beautiful sterling silver and 14-karat gold-filled wire and metal-worked jewelry pieces she designs and creates. Ms. Rowlett became involved in her profession because of her mentors, who taught her that she has the ability to do whatever she sets her mind to. Moving forward, she intends to continue to teach the visual arts and help others make their mark. As a testament to her success, Ms. Rowlett was honored as a Kentucky Colonel for her public service and work toward the advancement of the state, and as a member of The International Women’s Leadership Association.
