Title: President, Chief Executive Officer
Company: Anderson & Forrester
Location: Wheatridge, CO United States
Honing in on more than 30 years of experience in the manufacturing world, Michele Nordahl decided to take her career to the next level, purchase Anderson & Forrester, and become an entrepreneur. The company primarily supports the natural oil and propane industry by producing products such as orifices, gauging kits, and drilling kits. As the president and CEO, Ms. Nordahl is responsible for handling business development, finding new markets and customers, developing new products, overseeing operations, and handling payroll and human resources. She hopes to continue in this role moving forward.
One of the things that separates Ms. Nordahl from her peers and makes her so successful is the fact that she doesn’t play politics; she believes in people. Although she does own the business, she doesn’t make the products, her employees do. Thus, Ms. Nordahl believes it is important to treat them with respect. She also believes her positive attitude contributed to her accomplishments.
In preparation for her career, Ms. Nordahl earned a bachelor’s degree in human resource management with a minor in business management from Friends University and an associate degree in forestry from Lane Community College. She is currently a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, which she finds to be an asset because of the information they provide and the networking opportunities they offer. Ms. Nordahl attends their conferences, and corresponds with them whenever she has a question. She would advise the younger generations to listen, learn, and ask questions, be a leader not a follower, and never burn bridges.
