Pamela Francis

Francis, PamelaTitle: Executive Assistant
Company: DTE Energy
Location: Detroit, MI United States

The time Pamela Francis has spent working at DTE Energy has been the highlight of her career. She met the chief executive officer of the company during its inception, and was very impressed. Ms. Francis has been lucky to have been there for more than two decades now, and feels proud of the fact that she has worked her way up from the legal department to executive assistant to the vice president. As a good communicator with the ability to easily adapt to situations, she knows how to get the job done. Ms. Francis enjoys the opportunity to work with the process-driven executives within the company. She’s someone who was never just in it for the money; she loves what she does, and doesn’t sweat the small stuff.

One of the biggest problems Ms. Francis has encountered in her career is making renewable energy something everyone can live with. It is extremely important to the world, but wind energy, for example, is extremely noisy and hazardous to wildlife. Ms. Francis has had the pleasure of working with a female engineer, who is now retired, on getting wind energy to where it is today. She believes there is still a lot of work to be done, however.

Although Ms. Francis was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2008, she has still managed to get the important things done, like her job, volunteering, and life. She currently volunteers with The Children’s Hospital of Michigan and her local church, and is a member of The International Women’s Leadership Association. Ms. Francis also enjoys listening to music and spending time with her grandchildren. She hopes to be remembered for being humble, kind, reliable, and non-judgmental.
