For more than two decades, Monique Grissette-Banks has used her experience with human resources, talent, and organizational development to climb the corporate and financial ladder. She has been with LexisNexis, a global provider of legal research and information services, for the past 10 years, and is currently the director of human resources.
One of the most challenging aspects of Dr. Grissette-Banks’ career is being a woman of color in a man’s world. She often felt that she had to work twice as hard to make her ideas have as much value as a man’s, which, as a leader, made her job a lot more difficult. Dr. Grissette-Banks credits her perseverance and tenacity to her success. Looking forward, she hopes to focus on developing women leaders, and teach and coach in universities and conferences. Dr. Grissette-Banks wants to show that women can achieve greatness at any level. A member of The International Women’s Leadership Association, she would advise the younger generation to never give up on their dreams.
In preparation for her career, Dr. Grissette-Banks earned a Ph.D. and a master’s degree from Fielding Graduate University, a master’s degree in education from Fairfield University, and a bachelor’s degree. She enjoys to grow and learn so she can continuously have the opportunity to transform and reinvent herself.
