Marianne Hennessey was given the gift of understanding what other people feel and helping them solve their illnesses. Her primary interests lie in the assessment and treatment of traumatic stress disorders, which is why her position as a psychotherapist with the University of Connecticut is a great fit. Utilizing her vast experience working with child and adult survivors of domestic violence, Ms. Hennessey has served as a consultant for the TARGET Program, through with she works with agencies in the state that have initiated the TARGET model of trauma recovery. She recently co-authored a fact sheet for the NICSN: Trauma Among Girls in the Juvenile Justice System.

She feels that education is important because the more she knew, the more she could make decisions. Ms. Hennessey would advise the younger generations to have strength and courage in their careers. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and singing opera; she feels blessed to have abilities like Pavarotti. Ms. Hennessey is also a member of The International Women’s Leadership Association.
