A natural progression of opportunities led Brenda Bowman to her position with Myers and Stauffer LC. The accounting firm specializes in assisting Medicaid agencies with complex reimbursement issues for hospitals, long term care facilities, home health agencies, federally qualified health centers, rural health clinics, pharmacy providers, physicians, and other practitioners. As a senior audit analyst, Ms. Bowman gets to utilize her strengths in auditing, state contracts, investigations, and dealing with Medicaid patients. She is proud of working her way up to that position.

Inspired by a long desire to be involved with health care and by her father, who encouraged her to go above her comfort zone, Ms. Bowman earned a bachelor’s degree in registered nursing from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and became a Certified Outpatient Coder-Apprentice. She holds this certification with ICD-10 CM proficiency. Ms. Bowman also recently attended the AAPC Healthcon Conference in Orlando, Florida. When Ms. Bowman isn’t working, she supports and volunteers with the Wheeler Mission, where she cooks and serves the homeless. She is also an honored member of The International Women’s Leadership Association.
