After more than two decades of experience, Rebecca Coons is an expert in creative marketing, event services, executive production and writing. One of her first jobs in the industry was with Extraordinary Events, where she managed new business development, honed her production skills, learned to love the live show, and built lasting relationships with vendors and clients alike. Ms. Coons then moved on to serve as the executive vice president of Ethos Design and Lounge 22, where she was charged with managing the sales teams of both companies, developing new business, and creating strategic alliances. There, she was able to develop her creative skill sets while learning the exhibit and fabrication industry. Some of Ms. Coons’ clients included Qualcomm, Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Starwood Hotels Worldwide.
In 2010, Ms. Coons launched her own firm, Nalu Creative, LLC, to create momentum in the area of experiential marketing, meetings and events. Nalu, Hawaiian for ‘wave,’ is the culmination of 20 years’ experience, and provides clients with the perfect balance of creative solutions, design expertise and balance.
Over the course of her fruitful career, Ms. Coons has come to be a highly respected figure in the industry. From gala dinners to new product launches, she has been at the helm of several major events, including the Olympic Torch Relay from Mexico City to Montreal in partnership with GPJ/Samsung. Ms. Coons has also produced multiple headline acts, including Sheryl Crow, Peter Frampton, Stevie Wonder, and Jay Leno, just to name a few. The highlight of her career, however, was creating and producing a custom 85-minute musical for Walmart to launch their new sustainability platform to a live audience of 14,000 in 2006. Ms. Coons has won a number of awards throughout her career, and attributes her success to her self-confidence and willingness to learn something new every day.
