After years of experience in the industry, Margaret D. Carlson has taken her proven record of team development, business recovery and forward achievement to her position at Compassus. The health care company is dedicated to providing quality hospice and palliative care throughout the nation. Ms. Carlson joined them in 2011 as an executive director, but has accepted the role of director of operations as of March 2016. Her responsibilities include providing operations support, oversight and direction to six sites of care within her region. To date, Ms. Carlson’s greatest accomplishment was creating a hospice program in her area that went on to receive high rankings and accolades.

Ms. Carlson chose her career path to follow her calling for helping others. She is inspired by the pride she has in knowing that nurses can be leaders. Looking to the future, Ms. Carlson hopes to bring her expertise in the hospice arena to other locations, and to develop the next generation of nurses beyond their formal education. She prepared to enter her profession by earning a nursing degree and a certificate as a hospice palliative care administrator. Ms. Carlson would like to be remembered as a leader who was kind, fair and really listened to others.
