With strong leadership skills and the ability to adapt to change, Catherine Trani brings more than three decades of experience to IHS, Inc. The global information company offers expert analysis, research and insight into today’s business landscape, and serves more than 140 countries. She became involved in the industry after joining the Economic Forecast Agency, and prepared for the job by utilizing hands-on experience. Ms. Trani landed at IHS after they acquired the Economic Forecast Agency, and currently serves as their senior manager of global delivery.

The biggest challenge Ms. Trani had to face was moving to Colorado, which was required after the acquisition. As the mother of two sons, she also had to work hard to find the right balance between work and life. Ms. Trani was inspired by her desire to always stay positive, however, and discovered that she actually likes living in Colorado; her professional goal is to remain there and continue to work and strengthen her skill set. She attributes her success to her work ethic and not being afraid to jump in and do things when needed. If Ms. Trani could offer one piece of advice to the younger generations, it would be to find mentors and learn from their experiences.

Prior to joining the global information industry, Ms. Trani served as an RN for 10 years. She hopes to be remembered for her ability to touch people and lead others. When Ms. Trani isn’t working, she enjoys yoga and gardening.
