Fair, firm, and consistent, The Honorable Joan M. Kline has served as a Guilford Town Justice for the past seven years. Her role includes conducting hearings, holding arraignments for felonies, and presiding as a judge in cases involving vehicle tickets, misdemeanors, and minor infractions involving the town. Ms. Kline also sits on the bench for a few different municipal courts in the area, including in Guilford, NY, Bainbridge, NY, and Oxford, NY. She attributes her success to her parents, who have a positive attitude and follow a common-sense lifestyle, because they have always supported her.

To supplement her career, Ms. Kline is pursuing a JD from Novus University, which she is very proud of. She looks forward to becoming an attorney, as gaining that perspective would enhance her ability to see multiple sides of every case before her. Ms. Kline currently holds a bachelor’s degree in legal studies from Kaplan University, which she earned with honors in 2012. Additionally, she is certified as a CPR instructor, defensive driving coordinator, and EMT, and received a search and rescue certification from the county of Chenango, NY. When she isn’t working, Ms. Kline enjoys motorcycle riding, and is a member of the Red Knights International Firefighters Motorcycle Club, which is exclusive to EMTs and firefighters.
