Celeste Araujo

Title: Realtor
Company: Century 21 Joe Tekula Realtors
Location: Wharton, NJ United States

After 15 years working in the classroom with special needs children, Celeste Araujo decided to retire. She began a new career in real estate because the field offers financial independence and flexibility. Ms. Araujo really enjoys her new profession as a realtor with Century 21 Joe Tekula Realtors. It gives her the opportunity to help first-time home buyers and build relationships with both clients and fellow brokers.

Ms. Araujo’s greatest strength is her humble beginning; she worked side-by-side with her husband, an immigrant, as they opened a restaurant in New York City. She carved out her own very successful career, utilizing motivation, drive and teamwork. Ms. Araujo would like to be remembered for proving that it is possible to realize dreams with effort and determination. Inspired by her three adult children and her 38-year marriage to her husband, she also hopes to be known as a strong role model who helped her family understand the benefits of hard work.

The biggest challenge Ms. Araujo faced was having her voice heard by old-school male brokers. She answers negative attitudes by treating people with respect, however. To prepare for her career, Ms. Araujo attended the American School of Business, and she completed all of the required courses. Additionally, as a continual learner, she is always keeping up on what’s new in the industry. Looking forward, Ms. Araujo hopes to obtain a broker’s license. She would also like to collaborate with other real estate agents, both in-house and externally.
