Founding member of in The Westside Ministry Association, Reverend Karen R. Gay continues in her 12th year as a non-provincial priest at the Diocese of Louisiana. Having grown up in an “Army family,” which helped her experience life in Germany, Alabama, and California, she has developed a keen sense of the variety in personalities Earth beholds, and has learned to become an excellent networker in bringing multiple groups of people together, providing them peace when there is controversy. The secret to Rev. Gay’s success is, “Understand that you have all the time you have. Lead a balanced life with work, health and family, community and your spirituality.”
As a woman in today’s world, Rev. Gay feels the support of her friends and family, and the blessings of God have all contributed to her success. She also believes obtaining a Master of Divinity at Diocese of Louisiana School for Ministry, as well as earning a Bachelor of Science at Louisiana State University provided her a wealth of knowledge to be successful. Her greatest accomplishment to date is raising four daughters who are happy in their marriages and have wonderful vocations. During her free-time, Rev. Gay enjoys traveling, playing the guitar and piano, singing and listening to all types of music.
