Celebrating 50 years of experience in dietetics and nutritional education, Barbara Williams retires her career in education as an adjunct instructor within the department of allied health at the Community College of Philadelphia. An expert in dietetics and instruction, she taught nutrition to nursing students and allied health professionals, updating them on the latest nutritional information for senior citizens and other age groups. Organizations that have made a difference for Ms Williams in her profession is her church, Cliveden Hills Association, Philadelphia Dietetic Association, and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

Ms. Williams received a master’s degree in counseling from University of Bridgeport in 1989, and previously a bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition at West Virginia University. She is also a Registered Dietitian and Dietetic Technician. To keep herself abreast of changes in her profession, she holds the seat as president of Cliveden Hills Association. During her free-time, Ms. Williams is teacher at the local church and treasurer of Grace Baptist Church of Germantown.

Ms. Williams previously worked for Aramark for more than 33 years in their health care division. As a woman in today’s world, what has contributed to Ms. William’s success was that she was goal oriented. She set attainable goals but always exceeded them. Ms. Williams’ advice to others who want to be successful in her field is to be appreciative and be grateful.
