Honing in on 27 years as president and chief executive officer for Professional Services of America, Inc., Ms. Sheppard provides the recruiting industry with expertise in business management, problem resolution, project oversight, client communication and other executive areas relevant to the company’s goal of providing quality human resource staffing. After being offered a job in recruiting, she found a niche and was recognized on the corporate level for her immediate success. Taking considerable pride in her career, Ms. Sheppard attributes her occupational achievements to not having the word ‘no’ in her vocabulary.
In preparation for her thriving career, Ms. Sheppard completed coursework at Chattahoochee Technical College and at West Virginia University. Her excellence in her field has won her various awards, including but not limited to the Private Enterprise Award from the West Virginia Association of Rehabilitation Facilities, the Member to Watch Award from Women Impacting Public Policies and the Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Ernest & Young. As a Native American business owner, Ms. Sheppard was also named Minority Entrepreneur of the Year in 2004. Looking to the future, she plans to establish a women’s center where women can network and utilize training resources. Ms. Sheppard also holds membership and executive positions with many business taskforces, and plans to continue coaching and mentoring others interested in starting small businesses.
