With expertise in pharmaceuticals, people management and change management, Dr. Ines Perea significantly contributes to the health community through her role as oncology vice president for AstraZenca. Dr. Perea furthers AstraZanka in its mission to advance biopharmaceutical manufacturing by developing and implementing marketing strategies and ensuring marketing access aligns with company goals. In addition, she serves the global team, oversees the company and drives the implementation of new solutions and customer orientation, motivated by her love of pharmaceuticals and professional inclination to learn from others outside the industry.
Dr. Perea attributes her success to her unwavering work ethic, which exhibits itself in her thorough educational background. Determined to advance professionally, she earned a Ph.D. in pharmacy from the Complutense University of Madrid in 1992, following a Bachelor of Pharmacy and work in biostatistics and pharmacoeconomy. Prior to her present position, Dr. Perea was a commercial director for Sanofi Pasteur MSD, and spent a combined 12 years as a regional commercial director and an oncology director at GlaxoSmithKline, a consumer health care company also specializing in pharmaceuticals.
With seasoned experience and a strong sense of commitment to the field, Dr. Perea is flexible in the face of what some consider to be a shifting industry. Happy to be part of an evolving company increasingly focused on personalized medicine, she is confident in her aspiration to help AstraZenca develop specific drugs to improve the quality of life for patients around the world. In the long term, Dr. Perea would like to progress professionally and become a general manager.
