Title: Supervisor, Family Support Specialist

At the age of 24, Alayne Becker has already advanced into a supervisory role in the Family Services field at Central PA Family Support Services. She has worked in human services for more than three years now and this past year was when she advanced onto a supervisory role. Ms. Becker has her own family and she feels that seeing the trials and tribulations of the families that she works with she is sometimes a bit too lenient with her own family. She wants to change the lives of families and help support them so that they can reach their future goals and do what is best for the families.   

The advice Ms. Becker can share with the younger generation of women entering the workforce is to have will power and do not let anyone tell you different stating, “Do not allow others to silence you.” As a woman in today’s world, she feels that her families support has contributed to her success, and believes people should treat others with compassion and kindness. With compassion and empathy, Ms. Becker knows the struggles that people face in order to get their lives back on track to persevere, and helps them and gets the information that they require in order to do pursue what they need.

In Ms. Becker’s words, “There is a lot of red tape there for the families that want to make the change. If they make more than minimum wage then they have a huge gap in pay. They can’t survive on minimum wage in order to support their family and after they surpass that wage they are no longer entitled to support. It takes a long time for families to get back on track due to the current guidelines.”
