Ms. Hines is currently serving as the chief of the medical service corps branch at United States Army Recruiting Command at Fort Knox, Kentucky. She previously served as the chief of human resources at the Irwin Army Community Hospital at Fort Riley, Kansas. She competed and was selected by the U. S. Army to participate in a training with industry program in association with Baptist Health System in San Antonio, Texas where she worked for one year as a Human Resources Resident. She has held several positions in the U.S. Army, including evacuation platoon leader, treatment platoon leader, executive officer, health service personnel officer, brigade adjutant, company commander and TWI human resources resident. Prior to working in the human resources field, Ms. Hines worked as a dialysis nurse.
Initially, Ms. Hines became involved in her profession through her desire to serve in the U.S. Army and help soldiers. She attributes her success to her strong work ethic, and the support she receives from her family, teachers and mentors in the military. She has the ability to adapt to a changing environment, continuously learn though professional development, and accepts constructive feedback from subordinates, peers and superiors alike. Ms. Hines’ determination, hard work and willingness to spend hours to get the job done right separate her from her peers.
The highlight of her career was being selected to attend the Medical Service Corps Junior Officer Week and Training With Industry, both in 2009, which are highly competitive. Additionally, on a daily basis, she feels rewarded that her job helps soldiers and their families and that she can put their mind at ease so they can concentrate on completing their mission. Her job affects their promotion, military pay, military leave, military assignments, and military tuition assistance processing. In the coming years, Ms. Hines hopes to attain her professional in human resource certification. She would also like to attain a certification in teaching within the next five years.
