Alissa Hascup was admitted to the Bar in 2007. She was the New Jersey representative, on behalf of the New Jersey State Bar, for the New Jersey Supreme Court Domestic Violence Working Group. She is passionate about promoting female attorneys in the criminal defense field because it is mainly male-dominated. She aims to promote the young female presence in the field. She became involved in her profession because she always knew she wanted to be a lawyer. She had a passion about the law and the constitution, and she was attracted to criminal defense law because of how it evolves and constantly changes. For example, online harassment cases didn’t exist 20 years ago.

Ms. Hascup has also lectured on panels regarding domestic violence. She is a former Special Deputy Attorney General, Assistant County Prosecutor, and Municipal Prosecutor. During her distinguished career with the state, Ms. Hascup has handled numerous cases, ranging from attempted murder and burglary to aggravated assault and weapons offenses. She now uses her understanding of what it takes to successfully prosecute matters to find and exploit the weak spots in the state’s cases. In five years, Ms. Hascup plans to grow her practice, have multiple locations, hire more attorneys, and focus on bigger cases.
