Wielding 30 years of legal expertise, Deborah Minnis continues as an attorney at Ausley McMullen, a Tallahassee full-service law firm where she provides expertise in labor and employment law. Through Ausley McMullen, she represents and advises management clients in employment discrimination matters, including the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Pregnancy Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Title VII, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and other civil rights acts, as well as state law employment tort claims. Ms. Minnis believes her success in these matters stem from maintaining objectivity, treating everyone with respect, and always looking forward so that she can provide the best services for her clients.
Ms. Minnis has worked as an assistant attorney general for the state of Florida for six years. She has also taught as an adjunct professor at the Florida State University College of Law. She is currently learning Japanese to keep her mind active. She received a JD from Florida State University, has earned Women’s AV Preeminent Attorney distinction, and is a Martindale-Hubbell AVVO Rating 7.0; AV Preeminent Attorney. In five years, Ms. Minnis intends to continue on the same path.
Initially, became involved in her profession because she was originally going to go into psychology. She found that psychology was used in conjunction with the law and decided to become an attorney.
