Within her ninth year at Achieve Orthopedic Rehabilitation Institute Sports Medicine and MedGym, LLC, Gina Pongetti continues in her 14th year as a professional physical therapist. Currently performing arts medicine and endurance sports services, she helps the out-patient physical therapy clinic provide elite sports medicine and injury prevention through her expertise in rehabilitation. Ms. Pongetti is also an expert in medical research, biomechanical analysis, gait evaluation, writing and lecturing.
The highlights of Ms. Pongetti’s career were being able to treat professional triathletes, as well as every day athletes at Ironman Kona- World Championships. She is also proud of having been a part of their success, and being able to play an integral part on the healthy and wellness of thousands of gymnastics in the U.S. and the world. She is happy to be a part of the treatment and health care for World, NCAA and Olympic Champions. Ms. Pongetti attributes her success to her ability to listen to her patients’ concerns, evaluate the entire situation, use her knowledge of biomechanics, and treat people with respect and networking.
Initially, Ms. Pongetti became involved in her profession because of her experience with a very dear friend who became paralyzed in a gymnastics accident, and her inspiration for medical healing. Interest in medicine in general stemmed from her involvement in gymnastics and the treatment of high level athletes. She is a nationally recognized expert in Endurance Sports Medicine, specifically triathlon, treating on site at Ironmans, including World Championships in Kona. HI, and directing the medical care for many local tri-training groups. In five years, Ms. Pongetti intends to continue treating with more time focused on teaching, writing and publishing.
