Celebrating two years as owner of Aspen Glow Reiki LLC, Janna Schaefer continues her expertise of body work and relaxation. Through her company, she provides wellness and holistic medicine services, meeting and obtaining clients to provide energy work, as she’s a Reiki practitioner and a student of health touch, including reflexology services. Most of her clients are word-of-mouth, many of which are veterans and their families, and come to Ms. Schaefer for the relaxation and health effects of the energy work.

Ms. Schaefer became involved in her profession because in 1993, she lost her husband to cancer. She is working in hospice and with energy work because she feels that people are forgetting the importance of human touch. She received a Healing Touch Certification Program Level III, QPR Certification in Suicide Prevention, ASIST, and certification from the North Carolina Reiki Training Center. In five years, Ms. Schaefer intends to work more hours with the company and be providing more active duty military with these holistic modalities.

Since obtaining these certifications, Ms. Schaefer keeps herself abreast of changes in her field through her memberships with Healing Touch Professional Association, Honor-A-Veteran.org, International Association of Reiki Professionals and Blue Star Mothers of American. During her free-time, Ms. Schaefer is a facilitator HeartBeat, a veteran’s service officer for the Colorado Department of Veterans Affairs, and volunteers with Durango Food Bank.
