Wielding nearly 60 years of educational expertise, June Kasyoki continues in her 22nd year as school principal at Kasyoki Christian Academy. There, she provides all levels of religious education to students from and around Sisseton, S.D., drawing upon her expertise in reading and English instruction, oversight of administrative duties, and GAP testing. She also conducts psychological testing, manages the standardizing of academic programs, and teaches life skills. Ms. Kasyoki believes her years of success stems from the inspiration she receives from her brother and two neighbors, both of whom were teachers.
Ms. Kasyoki is a farmer and has vegetables and animals. She also has a school in Kenya. Her husband has a pawn shop, a coffee and bake shop, and a massage and reflexology center all in the same building. They work under the umbrella name of Kasyoki Enterprises on everything but the school. During her free-time, she is a Sunday-school teacher at the local church, and is a member of the North Dakota Association of School Administrators, Senior Citizens Assembly, and the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program.
