Company: Bank of America Leasing & Capital, LLC
Location: Petaluma, Calif.
Ms. Dargie has been in the leasing field for 30 years. She has worked as a manager and vice president in different forms, such as manager of contracts to her current position in the sales and marketing sector. She is tasked with handling negotiations, syndication of the deals, and managing contract administration for domestic and international companies. Ms. Dargie received a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and criminology from the State University of New York College at Cortland, and earned a Paralegal Certificate, specialization in criminal law from the Institute for Paralegal Training. In five years, Ms. Dargie intends to continue working at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and is looking forward to volunteer for a nonprofit.
Mr. Dargie attributes her success to her negotiation skills, which came naturally to her. Coming from a large family, she had to negotiate all her life. Initially, she became involved in her profession through earning a degree from Cortland in criminology and sociology. She went on vacation to San Francisco, applied for a job at a leasing company and was hired. She had also done paralegal work and was an investigator on state crime in New York, which was very different from leasing. She did not even know what that was initially, but the negotiation skills were something she really developed. The negotiation between international parties has been something Ms. Dargie really enjoyed.
