Title: Author, Freelance Editor
Location: New York
In 2007, Gina Ardito published her first novel, “The Bonds of Matri-money” on Avalon Books, followed by “A Little Slice of Heaven,” “A Run For the Money,” and then her series of Raine characters in “Nobody’s Darling,” “Nobody’s Business,” and “Nobody’s Perfect.” Having won her first writing award when she was six, she had built up her interest and skill in writing, has written more than 15 books, and was awarded the Light of the Island by Long Island Romance Writers. Outside her own fiction, Ms. Ardito provides freelance editorial services for fiction writers and hosts a helpful tips, contact information, and copy of client contracts blog, Excellence in Editing.
Ms. Ardito’s excellence in creative writing is matched with her editorial skills, which she believes is complimentary of each other because it reflects her appreciation for the written word, belief in her skills, being correct with her information, and doesn’t let anyone tell her she can’t do something. She also attributes her success to the Internet, using it for research without leaving home, being able to expand and connect with other authors, and her ability to send in manuscripts to publishing houses electronically. Ms. Ardito has been published through The Wild Rose Press and Avalon Books, amongst various self-published works.
As most writing associations won’t accept writers until they’ve been published, Ms. Ardito has been indicted into the International Women’s Leadership Association as a woman of outstanding leadership. She is also a member of the Long Island Authors and Writers Society, National Association of Professional Women, and the Authors Guild. Ms. Ardito is the past president of Dunes & Dreams RWA and the Long Island Romance Writers.
