Company: Isaac School District #5
Location: Phoenix, Az.
Celebrating nearly 15 years in educational administration, Evelyn Shapiro continues as a governing board member of Isaac School District #5. Drawing upon her expertise in effective communication and mentorship, she provides the school district with oversight on new educational expansions and development. Ms. Shapiro also implements programs for students who speak other languages to help them achieve speaking English in their new schools in the state of Arizona.
Initially, Ms. Shapiro became involved in her profession after realizing the responsibility of public schools to provide resources for children. Since then, she has attributed her on-going success to her determination and focus on helping the young children. In 2005, Mrs. Shapiro had a federal grant passed in order to build a bridge in the community so that pedestrians could cross a busy street. The bridge has now been named the Ed Pastor Pedestrian Bridge.
During her free-time, Ms. Shapiro finds herself supporting The Steppingstone Foundation and the Veterans Association, is a volunteer at MDA, supervisor at the Mail Room, and is an ambassador for Ed Pastor Pedestrian Bridge.
