It all began when Annette Wildgoose was invited to participate as one of 70 leaders from the NGO community, Corporate Canada and the Federal Government to focus on developing an action plan to get Canadians of all ages participating in sport and recreational activities in a meaningful way and on a regular basis. This was a round table on mobilizing Canadians towards health, fitness and movement. She coordinated and co-facilitated the delivery of a Canada-wide learning and performance management product for Revenue Canada. With more than 35 years of management experience, Ms. Wildgoose has achieved success through planning and organizing special sporting and promotional events on a national and international platform, as well as designing, developing and delivering programs and services at national and provincial levels. Thana van Rooyen

Thana van Rooyen came from South Africa worked for the travel division of American Express, where she put together tours; she designed tours for different groups and put together packages that included costs. One of her largest customers was AARP. With the restructuring of AARP, her position was eliminated, and Ms. van Rooyen turned to a career in real estate, where she would be able to “take care of herself,” as well as help her customers realize their dreams. Trained as a teacher in South Africa, Ms. van Rooyen learned about the travel industry and then took on the challenge to learn everything about the real estate business. She took many courses and received her license for residential real estate in Connecticut.  She enrolled in William Pitt Training and also learned from her mistakes. Continue reading →

Ashley Tomlin

While caring for her grandparents, Ashley Tomlin became familiar with the medical field while talking to health care providers on her family’s behalf. As she was responsible for their care, she became inspired by the profession, and prepared for the profession by becoming a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
