Sallie StuddsTitle: Business Management Supervisor
Company: NASA
Location: Melbourne, FL United States

Motivated by her desire to serve her community, Sallie Studds has spent the past few years developing her career at NASA. She currently serves the aviation and aerospace government agency as a business management supervisor. Her ability to foresee mistakes and errors aids her greatly in forecasting and projecting budgets, which is a big part of her position.

The greatest challenge Ms. Studds faced was becoming recognized as a subject matter expert. She succeeded, however, and as a testament to that success, she earned the Exceptional Medal Award from NASA in 2012. Ms. Studds is also an honored member of The International Women’s Leadership Association, and would advise the younger generations to be inquisitive, ask questions, and don’t be intimidated. Ms. Studds attributes her accomplishments to her husband’s support and the core values her parents instilled in her.

A lifelong learner, Ms. Studds received an undergraduate degree in business from the University of Maryland College and an MBA in business management from Grantham University. She also holds the highest level designations in program management and business administration from the Defense Administration Agency, and is a green belt in Six Sigma. Looking forward, Ms. Studds hopes to pursue more training and grow beyond her directorate position. She would like to eventually secure the role of chief financial officer. Prior to joining NASA, Ms. Studds worked for the Navy in the budgeting and finance department responsible for funding helicopters.
