Connie Zeller loves helping people and making a difference, so she decided on a career in pharmaceutical technology. This path allows her to provide health care and benefits to heal the community. At the beginning of her career, Ms. Zeller faced the challenge of a glass ceiling. She spent 17 years with the same company, learning everything there was to know about its operations, and when she was due for a promotion, her male supervisor informed her that the position wasn’t a good fit. The company ended up hiring a man with no training to fill the position, and she knew it was time to resign.

This eventually led Ms. Zeller to her current position as the director of education for DecisionHealth, a leader in health news, analysis and instructional guidance. In her role, she is responsible for overseeing the medical practice and acute care products. Ms. Zeller attributes her success to having great mentors, including Joyce Baskin, who told her she could do whatever she wanted, and to her excellent people skills. She has also become adept at balancing her work and home life, as she has always had a full plate.

In the future, Ms. Zeller would like to expand her vision while training more short-term employees so that she can thing about retiring in the long-term. She is currently a member of The International Women’s Leadership Association, and enjoys good food and hard workouts when she has free time. Ms. Zeller hopes to be remembered for being generous with her time, and for bringing friends, family and others a cooked dinner when they need it most.
