Title: Manager, Reiki Master
Company: Elisi Spa and Wilderness Resort
Location: Fort St. John, BC Canada
Inspired by her mother-in-law, who taught her so much and helped her break into the industry, Brandi Olmstead has spent the past 12 years as the manager and Reiki master of Elisi Spa and Wilderness Resort. Founded in 1987, the goal of the resort is to deliver first-class spa services while giving people the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Canadian wilderness. They are open from July to October due to hunting season, and offer a variety of outdoor activities, including horseback riding, hikes along the nearby river, and fishing. On the spa end of the retreat center, visitors can enjoy luxuries like massages, facials, fitness services, healing waters, and excursions.
As an outgoing and fun person, Ms. Olmstead is the ideal candidate to work in the luxury services industry. She loves people, and has the ability to adapt to others, as she understands that everyone is different. The biggest challenge Ms. Olmsead has faced in this career is advertising; she needs to learn how to portray her spa so that it stands out from others. She is always looking to upgrade her personal experiences, however, so it’s something she is working on. In the future, she would love to open a second spa.
When Ms. Olmstead isn’t running her business, she is spending time with her five daughters. They live on a ranch, so they like to be outside a lot. Ms. Olmstead is also very involved in her kids’ school, and is very proud of helping to raise money for a wheelchair accessible playground. Additionally, she is a member of The International Women’s Leadership Association, and hopes to be remembered for making a difference.
