Pillsbury Gredzens, SandiTitle: Sole Proprietor

Company: North Shore Serenity

Location: Two Harbors, MN United States

Interested in drawing since childhood, Sandi Pillsbury Gredzens became hooked when her parents gave her that first paint set. Although she initially started out as a theater major, a challenge from her high school art teacher resonated, and inspired her to amend her career path. Now, decades later, Ms. Pillsbury Gredzens has gained immeasurable experience as a professional artist and art educator. Although she recently retired from teaching, she has “re-fired” as an artist. The name of her studio, North Shore Serenity, describes the type of realistic impressionism paintings that she creates. She hoped that the viewer would sense peace and serenity when looking at and owning her paintings, which are made with oil, acrylic, alkyd, and sometimes watercolor.

Ms. Pillsbury Gredzens’ efforts have led her to become a renowned artist in the U.S., her accolades include a recent exhibition in New York City, when she was summoned to the Agora Gallery for a private show, and the invitation she received to paint in Monet’s garden. She is now looking for international recognition.

In addition to her art career, Ms. Pillsbury Gredzens is also trying to grow her radio talk show, where she interviews members from all fields of the art world. The show draws on her background in performing and theater. Her brother-in-law and sisters are her biggest fans. Additionally, Ms. Pillsbury Gredzens considers Hazel Belleville, her mentor and teacher, to be instrumental in pushing her to keep going. She hopes to be remembered as a teacher and as an artist, whose paintings went beyond just being a picture.
