From the young age of 16, Jacqueline Fazekas knew the retail industry was where she was meant to be. She learned more and more about retail and business as she moved into upper management and administration, and now has more than three decades of experience in the field. As the vice president and merchandise manager of housewares and food for Burlington Stores, Ms. Fazekas is in charge of managing a team of 15 professionals and providing them with the support they need. She removes roadblocks and solves problems so that they can perform to their maximum capacity. Additionally, Ms. Fazekas manages multi-channels, including stores, e-commerce and print, and partners with cross-functional teams across the organization to influence and execute strategies. She is separated from others in the industry by her passion for the customers; she always listens to them and anticipates their needs.

As a testament to her success in the field, Ms. Fazekas was awarded the Impact Merchant of the Year award by Home World in 2006, 2003 and 2002, and the Top Buyer Award by the Home Furniture Network in 2002 and 1996. She is most proud of launching the Canopy home brand at Walmart Stores, Inc., in 2008. The home product line offered a variety of sheets, bedding and towels.

Ms. Fazekas prepared for her career by earning a Bachelor of Science in international business and finance at Barry University in 1989. In the next five years, she hopes to obtain a senior vice president or general manager of merchandising position with a retail organization or manufacturer.

When Ms. Fazekas isn’t working, she enjoys shopping at flea markets, attending music concerts and shows, traveling and boating. She is charitably involved with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospitals, local family services organizations, and North Texas Food bank.
