Although Nadine O’Shaughnessy initially planned to join the medical field, she changed her mind upon being asked to tutor other students as a freshman in college. She loves teaching, and believes that education is the first step toward a successful future and life. Ms. O’Shaughnessy was an educator in the classroom for 18 years before moving on to her current career as the principal for Copenhagen Central School. Her greatest strengths are in securing a strong education for children, building a solid foundation for their future, and helping them see the positive and be good to others.

Ms. O’Shaughnessy’s greatest accomplishment was being recognized as Administrator of the Year by the school and local library systems. She was their first recipient of the award. Ms. O’Shaughnessy prepared for her career by earning a master’s degree and a certificate of advanced study in educational administration. Looking forward, she hopes to grow on a more technological basis, so that she can help students experience and leverage where their greatest opportunities are. Ms. O’Shaughnessy believes that this will open doors for kids, as well as provide challenges for top student achievers. She would also like to decrease the amount of paperwork she does, so that she can invest more time with teachers and students. Ms. O’Shaughnessy hopes to be remembered as a champion for educating children.
