Inspired by the guests she serves, Heidi Wilcox is a 31-year veteran of the hospitality industry. She joined the profession because she enjoys being around people, and it allows her to be her authentic self while exploring her professional passions. In Ms. Wilcox’s role as the CEO of First Call Hospitality, Inc., she consults with owners, asset managers and leaders to achieve optimal return on investments for each hotel the company operates. She is also responsible for the company’s performance and strategic vision, and leads the executive team to improve sales, marketing, revenue, and guest satisfaction.
The biggest professional challenge Ms. Wilcox had to face was not being taken seriously. She felt that others didn’t respect her for her knowledge and years of experience. Ms. Wilcox overcame that, though, and she considers being named CEO to be one of her greatest accomplishments. In fact, she is in the process of becoming the owner of First Call Hospitality, Inc. Her greatest strengths are communication, building relationships, and working with a team. Ms. Wilcox hopes to be remembered for being a great motivator, and a caring and genuine person.
To prepare for her career, Ms. Wilcox earned an MBA from the University of Mary and a bachelor’s degree in hotel restaurant management, with a minor in business administration, from North Dakota State University. She is proud to have been a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society since 1988. Additionally, Ms. Wilcox has spent 11 years as a Girl Scout Leader.
