Sunnie Swartz is driven to advocate for women’s rights, which is something she is able to accomplish each and every day by way of her position with the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania as a Hearing Officer II. Supported by unwavering professional stamina, superior people skills, and a tenacious and loyal nature, Ms. Swartz earned her stripes by attaining a dual degree in sociology and criminal justice. She is also a certified complex litigation paralegal and bail commissioner.

Ms. Swartz admits that it is sometimes difficult for women to earn respect among their peers, but she remains undeterred in this goal. She feels strongly about equal pay for women in the workplace, and contributes her background and knowledge to this very initiative. Ms. Swartz began her career as a law clerk, a position that required she focus her attention on domestic violence. Further, she gained invaluable experience as a legislative aide.

For her efforts in the field, Ms. Swartz was named Woman of the Year by Women Against Abuse. She was also included in the Criminal Justice Honor Society. Outside of work, she supports various causes, including the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Put People First PA. Recreationally, she enjoys dancing, writing, reading and singing.
