Passionate about constructive societal and cultural change, Lietta Ryan borrows from three decades’ experience to serve as the executive director of American SPCC, a renowned nonprofit organization that strives to end child abuse by contributing to community service programs and youth advocacy solutions. American SPCC also offers educational resources to bolster awareness of mistreatment, influence positive parenting techniques, campaign for children’s rights and provide solutions to counter bullying.

Ms. Ryan’s background is rooted in both business and health care, which places her in a perfect positon to offer executive leadership for American SPCC. In fact, she has experience in operations, finance and small business development, which she had honed both in and outside the nonprofit arena. Ms. Ryan has also worked professionally as a nurse, a position that led to a specialties in obstetrics, pediatrics, and mental and physical disabilities.

Ms. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She began her career as a pediatric nurse, a position that inspired in her the desire to become an advocate for the welfare of young lives. Ms. Ryan feels that her talents are best flexed in the area of project management, and she looks forward to continuing to contribute to the values and mission of American SPCC so that it is able to positively impact even more lives. Her inspiration, she notes, comes from witnessing positive outcomes for both children and parents. “It validates what I do,” she says.
