Lydia Murphy has extensive experience in the insurance industry, as she has been in the field since high school. She started as a receptionist, and worked her way up to her current position. This progression allowed Ms. Murphy to get a well-rounded perspective of the job, which has contributed to her success. As an account executive for Leavitt Group Enterprises, an insurance brokerage, she specializes in all aspects of business insurance, including bonding and employee benefits. Ms. Murphy’s goal with the company is to educate her clients and make sure they are all covered properly. To prepare for her career, she earned a license for property and casualty, and holds CIC and CISC designations.
Inspired by her desire to give her children a good life, Ms. Murphy seeks to continue increasing her sales, even though she is already at the top of her field. She is most proud of raising her four children, and wants to be remembered as a kind person who desired to improve the community in which she lived, and who had a stable and happy family.
The biggest challenge Ms. Murphy had to face was breaking into a male-dominated field, but she feels her tenacity helped her to be taken seriously. She is the only female producer at the company. If Ms. Murphy could offer advice to a younger generation of women, it would be to stay involved, be educated, and become and expert.
When she isn’t working, Ms. Murphy participates with the Lili Claire Foundation and is on the fundraising committee of the Las Vegas Veterans Memorial. She also enjoys yoga, working out, weight training and knitting.
