Carol Horton originally began her career as a nurse, and is very proud to have touched the lives of so many people. She left nursing to go into business with her husband, who ran a full fabric protection business that lent its expertise to the abundant textile industries in the area, however. Upon splitting up with her husband, Ms. Horton decided to focus on an area that would help her clients during hard times, and thus Bridgeport Restoration Services, Inc. was born. She has served as the company’s president for the past 30 years now, and over time, it has grown to become a full-service carpet and upholstery cleaning company with an emergency response division. Her business also provides fire restoration, water mitigation, mold remediation, smoke odor elimination, duct cleaning, and other related services.

As a compassionate, empathetic, ethical person, Ms. Horton has earned a stellar reputation in the industry. She was inspired by her mother, who was blind and lived alone for a number of years. Ms. Horton’s mother never complained, for her motto was, “things could always be worse.” Through her, Ms. Horton learned to treat people the way they would like to be treated.

In addition to her work, Ms. Horton is affiliated with Shriners Hospitals for Children, Smoke Detectors for the Elderly, and drug prevention programs. Looking forward, she would like to open up a patient advocacy business to help people confronted by medical issues.
