Having retired a year ago after working at Detroit Medical Center for 14 years, Marcia Griffin is now very active in her community. The focus of her neighborhood development revolves around the local church and her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta. Also, she is very active in Touch of Wisdom Foundation, which is an educational program to help get children scholarships and it is an outreach program for the community. Although she has retired, Ms. Griffin intends on one-day obtaining a Ph.D. in continuing education, potentially garnering an entire new professional life for herself.

In 1999, Ms. Griffin received a master’s degree in human resources from Central Michigan University, utilizing her strengths in listening, reaching out to others, and being empathetic. Her greatest inspiration is her father, who always encouraged her to do her best in achieving her goals. Her current goal is to be remembered for being a giving person and always being there for people who need her services. During her free-time, Ms. Griffin enjoys running in marathons, church activities and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
